It’s a great honor to be here as your guest and to be able to be here on behalf of the Certified Collectibles Group as we start this new venture. I would like to begin by thanking Mr. Zhen, thank you. The development period leading up to today could not have gone more smoothly, and for that I am indebted to your professionalism and to your and your staff’s attention to quality and process. You have an incredible organization and I look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship as we build a great organization together in China. I would also like to thank a couple of the individuals who have made this venture possible. Mr. B.H. Lim and Mr. Martin Weiss have both been invaluable resources in terms of advising me about doing business in China. They are both great international ambassadors for the coin industry and wonderful personal friends. Thanks, B.H. Lim and Martin. The Certified Collectibles Group is a combination of companies that provide authentication, grading and encapsulation of collectibles – including coins and paper money. We do not buy and sell any collectibles, but rather we only provide our professional expertise on their quality and genuineness. NGC, our coin certification business was founded in 1987 and to date has graded over 17 million coins valued at nearly 20 billion dollars. Today it is the largest coin grading company in the world and provides professional services for tens of thousands of collectors, dealers, auction houses and museums world wide. The primary service that we provide is to grade coins by condition for dealers, and then to encapsulate the coins in our holder. By relying on us as independent experts, coins are easier to buy and sell, without disputes regarding condition or authenticity. We guarantee our work and the authenticity of all the coins that we certify. The holder is also designed as an optimal long-term storage solution. In fact, we’ve provided holders for the storage of the 200 most valuable coins in the Smithsonian’s collection. The Smithsonian houses the National Numismatic Collection of the United States. The holder materials are, of course, identical to those that we now use in the standard NGC coin holder. We also provide conservation and authentication through NCS, or Numismatic Conservation Services, founded in 2001. NCS can remove damaging contaminants from the surface of coins to preserve them and improve their appearance. We have consulted with museums and performed these services for many of the most valuable collections of coins established. This form of professional conservation was pioneered by NCS, and they have unique capabilities from conservation of shipwreck recovery coinage to removing PVC from modern proof coins like Pandas. PMG, our currency division, grades and encapsulates bank notes from around the world. PMG has become the leader in the field and, while since inception in February of 2005, has graded over 250,000 notes and leads the way to a better and more secure marketplace for paper money collectors. What does this mean for the marketplace in China? There are many benefits for both of us, but I think that three are most significant. First, access to certification make collecting more appealing to a greater number of people. The marketplace will expand. Second, it will create a safer marketplace. Third, transactions will be more efficient, especially international transactions and online transactions. A parallel might be to look at car buying. If China’s most knowledgeable mechanic offered to examine cars with you before you bought one, telling you authoritatively what’s best, how might this help you? Regardless of how much you know about cars and what you wanted to buy, car buying alongside an expert means the process would be less stressful and ultimately assure that you got the best car for you. It works the same way with coin buyers. Certification, the opinion of independent experts – provides great comfort to buyers of all levels. Obviously, it appeals to most immediately to novice and beginning collectors who are often very limited and very cautious. Coins require specialized knowledge, but the barrier to entry can be reduced by the widespread availability of CCG expertise. Independent third-party opinions allow collectors to act with greater confidence and with greater result. And certification is of benefit to even the most seasoned collectors who can gain by having a second opinion to reinforce their own and the grading guarantee acts as a form of insurance for buyers where CCG’s companies assume all liability. The popularity and preference for certified coins and bank notes has allowed the US to grow to become the largest numismatic marketplace in the world. A similar effect should be seen in China and our hope is that the Chinese market based on its sheer size will exceed the US market over time. Certification also creates a safer marketplace. Counterfeit coins are found everywhere. We guarantee the authenticity of NGC-certified coins. As an additional level of protection, we assign a unique serial number to every can that we certify which is printed on the certification label. We photograph coins in their holder before they are shipped from NGC, and using a simple and free tool on our website, collectors can enter the NGC serial number to make sure that a coin’s image matches before purchase. This aspect of our services provides a great level or protection. Another great opportunity is great access to online transactions and international transactions. NGC- and PMG-certified Chinese coins and currency will trade well internationally. Collectors throughout the world are familiar with NGC and PMG grading standards, and this makes it possible for them to buy coins even if they do not have the opportunity to view the items personally. They can also buy from a greater number of sellers because they don’t have to worry about subtle or individual differences in grading and representations. In a country as large as China, it’s easy to see how facilitating these remote transactions will be of benefit. Working together has great benefits for all of us. We believe that we have found a great partner to introduce our products more widely in China.
